What could put Angelinos more in the Christmas spirit than an awesome festival of lights? The Griffith Park Holiday Light Festival is a magnificent display of lights along a one-mile segment of Crystal Springs Drive presented by the Department of Water and Power. It has become a holiday tradition that attracts more than half million visitors each year. Sounds like a fun night out with the family or a perfect opportunity for a romantic date.

There are a few ways to see the festival:

Walk - The Holiday Light Festival will be only open to walkers from November 25th-December 7th. If you choose to walk, visitors can park at the L.A. Zoo parking lot, the parking lots on the south side of the festival near the Merry-Go-Round, or the lots near the pony rides. Parking is on a first-come, first-serve basis. Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and to dress warmly as the route can get chilly and is one full mile each way.

Drive - The festival will then be open to drivers on December 8th-December 30th from 5pm to 10pm, but expect long lines and heavy traffic.

Take a Shuttle - Shuttles will operate each evening on December 12th-December 30th from 5pm-10pm. Shuttles riders can park at the LA Zoo, the shuttle will pick you up, take you through the festival, and return you back to the zoo parking lot.
