Lucian Freud Art

Lucien Freud (Lucian Michael Freud) - Modern English painter of German origin. Born Dec. 8, 1922 in Berlin in the famous Jewish family. Parents architect Ernst Freud and Freud Lucy. He grandson of the famous psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud and brother of policies and writer Clement Freud. After coming to power in Nazi Germany Freud and his family moved to Britain. Freud had received British citizenship in 1939.


Initial education Lucien Freud was in the Essex school of painting (Dadhem) and the London School of the Arts. Goldsmitsonovskom also studied at University College London.


The first personal exhibition of the artist was held in 1944 in the Lefevre Gallery. In summer 1946, he made a trip to Paris, then in Rome and other cities. The early work of Lucien Freud are written in the genre of surrealism. Since 1950, is beginning to write portraits and nudity, muted by dense layers of paint.
